1) Did something happen? Thomas Edison became interested in moving images around 1988. Then more people became interested, and before you could blink, movies started being made.
2) What are the facts? How did it begin and what are the causes? Thomas Edison’s Kinetoscope (completed in 1892) was the first prevalent machine to show moving images. This led to the creation of Edison’s Black Maria motion picture studio (finished in December 1892). Vaudeville performers were among the first to be documented on the Kinetoscope.
